That means I always start by thinking about my audience.
As a content writer, editor, marketer and strategist, it’s my job to know my audience well.
Who are they? And what would they like to know? What questions of theirs can I answer?
How can I put myself in their shoes?
All good content, blog posts, articles, white papers, content strategy plans, social media posts, and presentations should begin the creation process with these questions.
If you’re speaking to individual customers or business to business, in the end you’re trying to connect with another human being, and stories are what draws us together.
I have over 15 years of experience helping clients figure out how connect with their audiences – clients ranging from big-box retailers to world-class arts centres, non-governmental organisations to language schools. I’ve worked out how to tell stories about blockchain technology, refrigerators with two shelves, business excellence, and challenging contemporary classical music.
